Before joining Jensen + Partners, George Conde spent 32 years at UCLA Campus Architects/Capital Programs in progressive positions in design and construction project management. The past 20 years has been focused on major projects for UCLA’s Academic Health Center heading up a staff managing hospital and laboratory projects as Project Director Medical Research Laboratory Buildings.
He has successfully guided the projects from design through construction and occupancy—developing successful relationships with administrative authorities of the state and University. He has been effective in engaging administrators, donors, faculty, researchers and other stakeholders in the design and construction of significant projects. He understands the challenges of construction—especially public-works—and has successfully negotiated contracts, agreements and claims. George is adept at working with prominent architects and designers in producing architecture responsive to the program needs and to the campus environment.
In the last six years, he was responsible for four new medical research laboratory buildings on UCLA’s Westwood campus. These major projects—budgeted at $230 Million—created 500,000 square feet of wet labs, vivaria, offices and instructional space.
George heads up Jensen + Partners’ project management division and is personally managing a new cancer center project.
