Maurie Maitland, RN, MSN

Maurie brings 10 years of registered nursing and project management experience from a variety of healthcare settings across the US and Canada. She has led projects that involve large-scale organizational change, rapid cycle clinical initiatives, ongoing training and development and recruitment and retention initiatives. As a clinical nurse, Maurie has cared for a broad range of patient populations in community and academic medical centers as well as home health and acute psychiatric facilities.

As a project manager Maurie has identified and developed strategic initiatives, including leading a 3-year strategic plan to achieve Magnet recognition for the nursing program of a large community hospital. The project involved implementing sustainable change related to nursing recruitment and retention, shared governance, nursing research and evidence-based practice. She has experience in establishing systems to monitor quality, financial and satisfaction outcomes to assure long-term success. Maurie has strong experience and skill in the development of educational curriculum and the facilitation of workshops that drive transformational change. She has provided coaching for management and department councils and guided interdisciplinary councils to achieve clinical quality, patient satisfaction and financial benchmarks.

In facility planning projects, Maurie brings a deep understanding of the patient experience and the interdependencies of clinical and functional healthcare systems. Her direct clinical experience and collaborative approach drives innovation in the development of lean space programs and design.
