Senior Medical Planner

Shehani has extensive planning and design experience on large complex state-of-the-art national and international healthcare projects including client pursuits and competitions. Her expertise includes master campus planning, future phase planning, site/ infrastructure planning and facility needs assessments at the macro level and also micro level planning such as individual department and room layouts per Evidence Based Design (EBD) principles. Her project involvements span across a wide range some of which are acute care, ambulatory care, cardiovascular, cancer treatment, women’s & children, behavioral health and correctional healthcare facilities. In response to specific client needs, she works with conceptual scenarios and sketches which are ultimately developed into innovative solutions that are both functional and efficient.
She was in charge of managing and coordinating the brand new $700M, 1M SQFT Loma Linda University Medical Center Adult and Pediatric Replacement Hospitals’ medical planning, medical equipment planning, TI build-out, interior design, and construction documents with the General Contractor, Design-Build sub-contractors, engineers, users and various trade vendors. Her responsibilities also included meeting with various regulatory agencies such as OSHPD and CA-Licensing Agency for planning compliance.

She is EDAC and LEED certified, and continues to enhance her knowledge in Sustainable Building Design, Flexibility and Modularity in Healthcare Planning, creating ‘Healing Environments’ using EBD principles, changing trends in Healthcare Delivery Systems and LEAN practices.
