Barlow Respiratory Hospital is a 49-bed long-term acute care hospital located on a 25-acre parkland site adjacent to the Elysian Park area of Los Angeles, California. It specializes in treating patients with respiratory and other complex medical conditions. The hospital, which was built in 1927, sustained damage in the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Its siting among a villange of historic structures offers important opportunities and challenges to the institution as it plans for its future.

As a 90-day phase one project, the Barlow Respiratory Hospital engaged Jensen + Partners to identify redevelopment alternatives, including potential partnerships and alternate regional locations to allow the hospital to finance a replacement hospital facility. This project was critical to allow Barlow to improve patient care facilities, enhance patient care, and meet California earthquake safety standards. The information and recommendations of the phase one study served as the foundation for the project's second phase currently in progress. Jensen + Partners has been engaged to manage the Barlow Hospital land development project. This project invovles the complete replacement of the hospital on-site as well as the procurement of land entitlements for the development and monetization of the hospital's unique 25-acre site adjacent to downtown Los Angeles and Dodger Stadium.
