Tri-City Medical Center is a 496,000 SF hospital located in Oceanside, California, built in phases beginning in 1961. In anticipation of continued growth in North San Diego County, and to comply with state-mandated earthquake safety standards, Tri-City Healthcare District is exploring plans to upgrade the existing hospital building and to build new facilities. The facility improvements will allow the District to comply with California earthquake safety standards by 2013, and improve patient services and treatment.

Jensen + Partners in partnership with Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Inc. (HGA) were engaged to perform a Master Facilities Planning Study beginning in the summer of 2007 which evaluates Clinical Program, Business Plans, Existing Facilities and Seismic Structure, and Site Design as a basis for Physical Project Alternatives and a project recommendation. The study is being conducted using an intensive calendar of Community Forums and public Board of Directors meetings, in addition to consultation with medical staff and an array of technical consultants.
